 Chris Brunnen set up CJB Photography in 1986 after art college training and five years working for a design and photography company in Portsmouth.
Now based in a purpose built studio at Portchester, CJB Photography is one of the longest established photographic businesses in the area especially set up to cater for the needs of Designers, Advertising Agencies and Businesses needing Commercial Photography.
 We have computer controlled, high resolution, digital cameras and Apple Macintosh systems for image manipulation and enhancement, but still use film cameras when the job demands it.
The main stay of the studio work is product photography, the images being used for brochures, catalogues, advertising and web sites.
Much of the equipment is also portable for when photographs need to be taken on client's premises, in offices or factories.
CJB Photography frequently had requests for high level photographs or aerial views of the South of England and soon discovered a demand for high quality aerial images of Hampshire, Dorset and West Sussex. As no one was producing these shots with the precise angle and quality required, CJB Photography  decided to capture these photographs using a helicopter.† Helicopters are better for aerial photography due to their manoeuvrability and stability, offering a smoother ride than fixed wing aircraft, whose wheels and wing struts often obscure the view.†
Helicopters come at a price however, but because CJB Photography shoot several sites during one trip they can offer this service at a more affordable cost by sharing the total flying time between the jobs.
Aerial photography has proved to be a great way of monitoring†construction site progress and with flights happening now so regularly, clients can have a site photographed within a few weeks.
 When Professional Photographer magazine ran a feature on aerial photography they interviewed Chris Brunnen, Director of CJB Photography, as one of the leaders in this highly specialised field, and reproduced several CJB Photography pictures within the article.††
 CJB has been commissioned to shoot site progress photographs on many significant construction projects recently, including the new St. Mary's stadium for Southampton Football Club, the stunning research & development centre for McLaren and Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth, featuring the 515 ft high Spinnaker Tower of which a series of shots can be seen here.
